PAULINA BÖHM
Operations Manager of Autaco Asia and jewellery lover
Your idea of perfect happiness?
Sleeping in, huge champagne breakfast and back to bed.
Three things a woman should be?
Smart, strong, self-secure.
Which historical figure do you identify with?
The quote goes: “Well-behaved women rarely make history”, so I would have to go with Iris Apfel.
What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
Dieting, that is why I don’t do it.
Your most marked characteristic?
My children would probably say nagging. I’d say my sense of humour.
Your real-life heroes?
Both of my grandmothers.
What makes a great party?
Great friends, plenty of food and drink and fun music. Essentially every Oktoberfest.
The funniest moment during your childhood?
I secretly brought home a stray cat, hid her under the bed in my room and never considered the lack of a cat toilet. Thinking of it, it was not that funny then.
The world’s biggest con?
Spot fat reduction, like, yeah right.
Characteristics needed for one to be rich and fabulous?
My grandmother went from being a rich man’s daughter to losing it all during WWII. She had to teach cooking to support herself and my father. She always wore white deer-skin gloves, diamond earrings and a hat. That’s fabulousness.
Your most treasured fashion possession?
My grandmother’s art deco diamond jewellery — delicate and timeless.
Your proudest fashion moment?
Meeting Suzy Menkes and having her talk to me nicely, without giving me the feeling that she is rolling her eyes in her head. I must have dressed right that night.
