With two significant tournament wins in 2016, the Palm Beach Illustrated Polo Team and PBI Polo Ambassador Jared Zenni were riding high. A last second goal by Team PBI propelled the foursome to a win over rival Villa del Lago in the Joe Barry Memorial Cup final. An equally exciting finish in the National 12-Goal at Grand Champions Polo Club in Wellington netted the team a $50,000 cash prize!
Zenni continued his development as a player in the fall of 2016 by competing in a series of tournaments in Argentina. Challenged amongst some of the best polo players in the world, Zenni took the opportunity to improve his game and expand his polo horizons. Building upon that experience, the young 4-goaler added the 2017 Iglehart Cup to his trophy case. Playing with 10-goal star Hilario Ulloa, Augustin Obregon and Duilio Diaz, Zenni’s Liquid Equine Biocell Polo Team went undefeated in their march for the cup. For his efforts in the final, Zenni was named Most Valuable Player.
Once again donning the PBI Polo Team crest and colors, Zenni has assembled a solid entry for the 2017 World Cup presented by Grand Champions Polo Club. The single elimination, winner-take-all tournament is open to teams 0 – 26 goal on handicap. The winning team stands to claim a stunning $100,000 cash prize! The April tournament has been the talk of the polo community and the subject of ongoing “sideline chatter” at polo matches since the start of the winter season. The prestigious tournament has been revived by Marc and Melissa Ganzi, owners of Grand Champions Polo Club, with the generosity of Palm Beach Polo’s Glenn Straub.
