In today’s upsetting news, PrettyLittleThing announced it will show at London Fashion Week in February.
The fast fashion behemoth will host a runway show (which, it’s worth noting, is not part of LFW’s official schedule) displaying the “hottest looks for 2022.” Gird your loins for a lot of synthetic fabrics.
The news was revealed by Love Island alum Molly-Mae Hague, crowned PLT’s creative director in 2021. “Get ready for my first catwalk show in LONDON!” the influencer wrote on Instagram.

The announcement comes shortly after Hague was widely ridiculed for spouting some Girl Boss-ian rhetoric in an interview with podcast The Diary of CEO.
“Beyoncé has the same 24 hours in the day that we do,” she reasoned. “I just think, like, you’re given one life and it’s up to you what you do with it. You can literally go in any direction.”
Quite a rich statement from someone repping a company that allegedly pays its workers below minimum wage.
PLT has previously shown at Fashion Week in New York and Milan. The jury’s still out on whether the City of Lights will eventually play host to the online emporium, where shoppers can purchase clothing for as little as $1.50.
PLT isn’t the only fast fashion company to set its sights on Fashion Week.
Last fall, Revolve hosted a multi-brand showroom in New York City, an event that saw the likes of Kylie Jenner and Megan Fox pull up.
And, lest we forget, H&M’s premium offshoot, H&M Studio, has held several see-now-buy-now runway shows in Paris.
If the prospect of Fast Fashion Week strikes fear in your heart, raise a glass — here’s hoping that Pretty Little Thing: Runway Edition doesn’t become an Ugly Big Recurring Thing.
