Television actor Priyansh Jora, who has been part of shows like ‘Tu Mera Hero’ and ’24’, is all set to make his Bollywood debut with a pivotal role in the Sonakshi Sinha and Badshah-starrer, Khandaani Shafakhana. In a quick chat with TMM, he talks about his Bollywood debut, money management and more.
You got a big break with Khandaani Shafakhana. How do you look at your transition from television to films?
Priyansh Jora considers it a blessing. I am fortunate enough; also, I believe it was apt for me. It took its own time, but I guess you’ve to be patient to get yourself big things!
For newcomers, perfect presentation and correct lobbying is the way to enter the big game. How do you handle it?
Agreed! But I don’t mind that, it’s not unfair, ours is a massive industry and there’s a lot riding on an actor even if he/she is not in a film! So, the presentation becomes the way to go about it. In simple words, ‘Jo dikhta hai vo bikta hai’! As far as me handling it is concerned, I’m a baby in the industry right now, taking small baby steps, and shall take it as it comes with stars and hopes in my eyes!
In Bollywood, till you don’t make it big, decent money doesn’t flow in. How to plan it right and manage?
Ahhhh!!! That’s a difficult road! And the one who has traveled the road knows it best. Touchwood, I have been blessed with good work and things have been smooth. All I can say is, I wish that God stays kind the way he’s been! And I keep striving for better work and keep working hard to be worthy and deserving!
Whom do you consider stylish in Bollywood and why?
Among men, Ranveer Singh is undisputedly the best. He has a different persona and a celebrated style sense that I really appreciate. And among women, I love what Katrina kaif does to her even basic stuff! She is a stunner. She has a natural flair that compliments her style sense.
Who is your inspiration in Bollywood in terms of acting and why?
Ranveer for his theatrics, Ranbir for his depth and nuances, Ayushmann for his vision, Shree Amitabh Bachchan for his everlasting dedication, Salman for his confidence, Akshay Kumar for his comedy, and Saif for this knowledge! I’m a huge fan of Javed Jaffery and Govinda for their share of work that they’ve done, it’s mind-blowing,
To become a successful actor, is it important to have six-pack abs?
Being fit is important. Six pack or family pack is all about creating an image and character. When you’re fit and have a correct regime and a body to support it, everything falls in place. If your abs could define the success, people would have been in the gym and not in the acting schools.
Would you go full monty in the films if the script demands?
Absolutely! I’m a nanga person, absolutely shameless! And that’s why I’m here. I’m an actor who looks out for such troubles and challenges that shapes me as a better professional, who is spontaneous and competitive.
How do you unwind yourself?
Traveling, it’s heaven!! It is so relaxing and involves a lot of fun and excitement. In case I fail to plan a trip, then eating good food and exploring eateries in the city is what I love doing.
