Editor’s Notes: These the Red Octobers. Okay, not really, but they’re certainly making a pretty bold, red statement in October, and I’m totally here for it.
Pyer Moss’ first independent shoe, “The Sculpt” is straight out of the future. Forget Nike Mags – this is the kind of silhouette I could picture Marty McFly stepping out of the Delorean in. At first glance, they’re bulky enough to go toe-to-toe with the Balenciaga Triple S, but on closer inspection, The Sculpt definitely kicks things up a gear.
Overall, The Sculpt is a contrast-heavy silhouette. From the black suede and mesh streamlined upper that resembles the shape of the Nike Footscape Woven Chukka to the extremely exaggerated, block-colored sole unit. While there is no denying the sole is the main draw of the sneaker, additional details like the white stitching on the upper and function-first toggle lacing system give these a lot of character.
This upcoming “Red” release marks the fourth colorway of Kerby Jean-Raymond‘s debut in-house sneaker, following black and yellow, white and yellow, and black and blue drops. Previous colorways didn’t stick around for long, so don’t expect these to either.
