Twinning! If you’ve been wondering if Duchess Meghan (nèe Markle) and Prince Harry’s son Archie is a redhead just like his dad, then well, it looks like we’ve finally got our answer! The duke, 35, revealed his mini-me is a ginger just like him while at the WellChild Awards on Tuesday, October 15.
You can thank 11-year-old Milly Sutherland, and her mom, Angela, who asked the royal couple about Archie’s appearance. “Meghan said he has [hair], and Harry said he definitely is [and] you can see it in his eyebrows,” Angela told Hello! magazine. “Harry said he’d had no hair for five months, but Meghan told him she had taken him to the playgroup and she said there were other children there with the same amount of hair or even less.”
It’s clear that Prince Harry is enjoying fatherhood. He couldn’t help but gush about Archie and get emotional while giving a speech during the ceremony. “Every year, they never fail to surprise and inspire me, but this year it resonates in a different way because now I’m a father,” he said. “Last year, when my wife and I attended, we knew that we were expecting our first child. No one else did at the time, but we did.” FYI, the WellChild Awards were held in September last year and Harry and Meghan didn’t announce they were expecting their first child until October 15 just as their Australia tour kicked off.
Harry continued, “I remember squeezing Meghan’s hand so tight during the awards and both of us were thinking what it would be like to be parents one day, and more so, what it would be like to do everything we could to protect and help our child should they be born with immediate challenges or become unwell over time.” However, it’s thanks to this organization that Harry has hope to overcome whatever comes his or Archie’s way. He said, “meeting all the WellChild parents and the kids themselves over the years you have managed to give all of us a sense of optimism.”
For now, Meghan and Harry’s only concern with their 5-month-old is that he continues growing healthy and happy, and that definitely seems like the case. “He’s already sitting up without any support for a few seconds, holding his toy bricks and Harry’s convinced that he can recognize himself in the mirror,” an insider divulged to Life & Style in September. What a smart baby!
