Also known as the Canadian Masters and the Canadian Open, the Rogers Cup is an annual tennis competition played on hard courts.
Established as a men’s competition in 1881, followed by the introduction of the women’s tournament in 1892, the Canadian Open is one of the oldest running tennis competitions in the world, with only Wimbledon and the US Open more established. Held on the same week in August, the men’s competition is held in Toronto and the women’s in Montreal on even-number years, and vice versa for odd-numbered years.
