Rolls-Royce has pulled the curtains back on the Black Badge Ghost in South East Asia. According to the marque, the new model is the ‘purest’ and most ‘technologically advanced’ Black Badge expression yet.

In terms of updates, the Black Badge Ghost features a slew that’ll pique the interest of Rolls-Royce fans. The new model uses the same twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre V12 engine as its predecessor but has been beefed up to output a hefty 592hp 900Nm of torque. It also enables the Black Badge Ghost to surge from 0-100kph in just 4.7 seconds. If you think that’s less than spectacular, keep in mind this is a 2.5-tonne vehicle we’re talking about.

Transmission and throttle have also been reworked so drivers can expect an increased urgency and immediacy to the Black Badge Ghost’s power delivery. It’s touted to deliver the full 900Nm of torque from just 1700rpm.

Exterior

Customers will be able to select from Rolls-Royce’s 44,000 ‘ready-to-wear’ colours when designing their motorcar, however, there’s also the option to create an entirely unique bespoke hue. The marque has shared, though, that a vast majority of its clientele for this particular model has opted for the signature Black — which uses 45kg of paint in total. Rolls-Royce says this is the motorcar industry’s ‘darkest black’, which is hand-polished by a team of four craftsmen.

The Spirit of Ecstacy and Pantheon Grille have both been given updates, featuring a darkened chrome electrolyte. To wrap things up on the exterior front, the Black Badge Ghost also has 21-inch composite wheels, specifically designed for this model.

Interior

In typical Rolls-Royce fashion, no expense has been spared for the interior of the Black Badge Ghost. The materials used here speak more to quiet confidence than an overt statement. Wood elements such as black Bolivar form the base layer, complementing other materials such as resin-coated carbon and metal-coated thread. Overall, the aesthetic is true to Rolls-Royce’s design philosophy for the Black Badge Ghost: “Post Opulent”.
