When it comes to Valentine’s Day, the rose is the top pick for many as an expression of love for our significant other. The rose, which Monsieur Dior named as the Queen of Flowers, gets immortalised and joins the Maison’s jewellery garden: Rose Dior Couture.
The latest iteration of the flower was conceptualised by Artistic Director of Dior Joaillerie, Victoire de Castellane for brand’s fine jewellery collection. Inspired by the rosebud, the new line “combines the promise of a bud ready to blossom with the silkiness of a fabric flower”. The parure comprised of nine delicate pieces that spans from rings to earrings to necklaces.
Unpretentious, simple yet sophisticated, these are the design ethos of de Castellane and they are aptly translated onto the Rose Dior Couture line. The main motif comes in the form of a burgeoning bud, with the rose petals looking supple and intricately wraps around the scintillating diamond at the centre. On other styles, the perfectly shaped petals are adorned with more diamonds that seems to spiral around it.
Appearing on several couture looks from the Maison since the time of Monsieur Dior to his successors, the rose has always been a source of inspiration. There is, however, a deeper meaning to the Rose Dior Couture. Its mid-blossoming flower represents continual love and affection that doesn’t wilt — a subtle declaration of your deep affection for your other half and a promise of joyful moments to come.
The new Rose Dior Couture is easy to style as the clean lines confers it versatility, making it a great addition to any woman’s jewellery collection.
In other Valentine’s Day news, Tiffany & Co. has launched its campaign featuring New York-based artist Curtis Kulig. “Blue is the Colour of Love” recontextualises Kulig’s iconic mantra, “Love Me” and highlights his exclusive artworks. The campaign also draws attention to the American jeweller’s iconic collections, such as the Tiffany Knot, Tiffany T1, and Tiffany HardWear.
