Roti King – worth the queues hole in the wall

Roti King

You find yourself on a quiet side road near Euston station, walking down some stairs towards a shabby basement for a restaurant. Waiting to queue for 30 mins plus for food. It’s not that obvious from the ground level that there’s an incredible hole in the wall establishment. People flocked to Roti King for their signature roti’s and Malaysian food. Roti King attracts crowds of people always and my visit after work was no exception. I knew of Roti King from the yearly Malaysian night festival held at Trafalgar square.

The hole in the wall

Queuing up waiting for a seat, Roti King menu graces the outside walls you will find Malaysian and Singaporean street food dishes. The place may not look pretty but it’s all bout the food.

Roti Canal

My visit was purely for the roti canai £6 it is one of favourite snacks/light dinner to have to satisfy my peckish hunger. Roti King makes their roti’s in house, it takes a lot of skill to shape a roti. You can see me attempting to make one over this post with here. The plate arrives with two fleshly cooked pieces of bubbly flaky flatbread. A bowl of curry dhall is included to dip with roti. Fresh roti is hot crisp and delicious and the curry is flavoured and not runny like other places I’ve tried. Roti King is worth the crazy queues, just remember it is cash only!
