Grand Riad
The riads of Morocco are known for grandeur, but the Royal Mansour is astonishingly opulent. Commissioned by King Mohammed VI, the hotel has gold-plated walls, onyx floors and marble coverings with intricate Moorish accents. Behind a terracotta pink facade flanked by palm trees, you’ll find the Grand Riad, a three-story 19,375-sq-ft palace of ornate lounging and dining areas and three uniquely designed bedrooms with intricate carvings, mosaics and romantic drapes. The sheltered courtyard is adorned with flowers and fountains and the private garden comes with a pool. Each area exhibits the craftsmanship of local artisans, but with state-of-the-art facilities, including an underground cinema. Marvel at the Atlas Mountains from the two-level rooftop.
