Image 3The 2nd Annual BVI Food Fete returns to the British Virgin Islands this November.

A culinary celebration that fills guests with the flavorful traditions of the islands, expect exciting events and deliciously prepared Caribbean-infused cuisine.

A multi-destination experience within one extraordinary place, island-hopping from one sandy coastline to the next is a must to experience the best of the BVI during the Food Fete celebrations.

Kicking off the month-long festivities is the Taste of Tortola on November 7, 2015. Expect wine and food samples prepared by the island’s best chefs, cook off competitions and awards celebrating the best of the island’s culinary offerings, including people’s choice for Favorite Restaurant. Across the ocean, the Taste of Virgin Gorda will take place on Nov. 21. Catered by Virgin Gorda’s best restaurants, the event will also include live Jazz music entertainment, awards and more culinary-inspired fun and games right on the coast.

Image 2In addition to filling up on lobster, conch, fresh fish and funji, no Caribbean experience is complete without a rum tasting or two. The Jost Van Dyke Jost Crawl (Nov. 8), Virgin Gorda’s On The Rocks Bar Crawl (Nov. 21) and the Anegada Lobster Crawl (Nov. 27), will be the perfect opportunities to try the island’s famous Painkiller rum punch or Bushwacker. If you’re on Tortola, stop by the historic Callwood Rum Distillery for a unique rum sampling and history lesson.

On Nov. 14, spend your evening at the Barefoot Gourmet Soiree. Enjoy live music and finely prepared fare right on the beach. There will also be an opportunity to mingle with the event’s participating chefs throughout the evening. A fine-dining affair not to be missed, all proceeds will benefit a scholarship fund for a culinary/tourism student.

Image 1Among the Food Fete’s participating chefs are Food Network TV Judge, Chef Kristin Sollenne; Founder of Buenos Aires’ 2013 Best New Restaurant, Astor Manduque Porteño, Chef Antonio Soriano; Former Brandywine owner, executive chef and award-winning BVI culinary sensation, Chef Davide Pugliese; 2009 champion of Food Network’s Chopped and executive chef and instructor at The Art Institute of Houston, Roshni Gurnani; Duesseldorf’s U. das Restaurant owner, Chef Bastian Falkenroth; Pastry chef, chocolatier and one of the original contestants on Bravo TV’s Top Chef Just Desserts, Erika Dupree-Davis; And former chef of Tortola’s Dove Restaurant, Todd Howard.

The BVI Food Fete will culminate with the highly anticipated two-day Anegada Lobster Festival (Nov. 28-29). Take the exciting self-guided culinary adventure around the island to sample its sweet and savory spiny lobster prepared in a variety of ways. Participants will dine on three different lobster dishes from each restaurant at a prix fixe cost. Options range from samplers to full entrees with each selection prepared in its own unique way.

The festival ends with a sensational sunset party, officially closing out the culinary experience of the BVI Food Fete. For more information and to purchase tickets visit www.BVIFoodFete.com
