Italian shoe and accessories designer Sergio Rossi is joining hands with Livia Firth’s eco-friendly brand consultancy firm Eco-Age to create a Green Carpet Collection, according to Vogue UK.
The collection was created in Italy and will include evening shoes and a matching clutch in a butterfly theme. All materials used and aspects of the manufacturing process were certified by Eco-Age and other auditing bodies.
Work conditions controllers GCC validated the organic silk yarn used to make the shoes, and the Swarovski Advanced crystals on the shoes and accessories are lead-free. The wood used on the frame of the clutch is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
Sergio Rossi’s Green Carpet Collection will be available on Sergiorossi.com on September 3 and in selected boutiques starting September 4.
Livia Firth created the Green Carpet Challenge, which works to raise awareness about sustainability and social welfare.
