Shades of Sahil Salathia

Bollywood actor Sahil Salathia picks his favourite shots from the past and reveals his many shades of fashion, style, and comfort!

The Man of Colour
I am very much mood-driven and so are my looks. This blue jumpsuit is from a Sunday afternoon, when I was hanging out with my friends at the Soho House Mumbai, it’s one of my favourite places, plus it’s next to my house, so it’s easily accessible. Also, apart from the comfortable jumpsuit, the key highlight of the look is my neon shades. I feel any man who loves to experiment with his looks, should always give neon colours a try. They automatically add some spark to your look, especially during the daytime. The overall feel of this look is calming and refreshing.

Breaking Stereotype
In the world of Instagram, where posing bare body in the shower is nothing but run-of-the-mill, for me, it has to be something innovative and edgy, and this shot of mine in white shirt all drenched under the shower is surely the one that celebrates the art of photography with a pinch of experimentation and innovation.

A fusion of Shamsher & Sahil
This moustache look was shot during the year-long schedule of my film Panipat, in which I played the character of Shamsher Bahadur. This shot was clicked at a photoshoot during the same period, and I was in a sporty mood, so the care-free look speaks volume of my leisure time after the pack-up when I used to experiment beyond the traditional looks of the film. This one is surely worth being framed and placed on my career wall, as it has everything in it! I just love it.

The Fur Fact
This is from the New York Fashion Week 2020, when I was stepping out from Bibhu Mohapatra’s show. While I love playing around fur looks, I don’t promote real fur usage in the fashion world and this one is synthetic artificial fur that was used for my power look for the day and I kept it very simple yet classy. I feel when you are adding volume to your look with fur, it is always advisable to keep other elements very simple.

Flashy & Balance
This one is also from the New York Fashion Week 2020 and to let the flashy jacket speak for itself and to create a balance, I paired it with plain white trouser, and simple round aviator. The idea here was to strike a balance and at the same time draw people’s attention. As the jacket had a lot of colour, so I balanced it with white trouser and it was a huge hit on social media.

Hat & Character

Hats are my thing and whenever I am travelling, my vanity has a couple of hat variations, as they simply enhance my style quotient. From streets to beaches, you can wear them anywhere and they are never a flop show. This was also shot during the Panipat schedule (see my big handle moustache). When I look at this shot, it gives me a detective or magician vibe and defines a character and that’s the beauty of hat, which can give character to your look as well. Try it!
