After two and half years working near the Hammersmith, Kensington, Shepard’s Bush area I found it difficult to find good eateries that are not a greasy spoon café. Shandeez is popular amongst the colleagues for their breakfast butties and kebabs, using produce that actually taste like meat and grilling instead of frying food. If you’re around the area of Olympia this is a great place for food on the cheap. Shandeez recently had shop front makeover, looking a bit more stylish on the outside.
Shandeez does great kebabs cooked on their grills, all day breakfasts, and omelettes. A full English breakfast sets you up for under £5.
There’s a garden seating area hiding at the back, my favourite spot is the middle section by the conservatory style area with plenty of natural daylight.
£6 got me a small chicken shish kebab, side salad, chips and warm toasted pitta bread. The chicken meat is well marinated, grilled until it’s tender soft, not an ounce of grease from the chunky chips and lashings of garlic sauce just the way I like to have my kebabs.
My lunch at Shandeez left me full and satisfied I’ve been back many times for the kebabs.
