After days out shopping in Bicester, the brothers are I was famished all the sushi buffets were fully booked so we headed down to Central London for some food. Shoryu Ramen Regent Street branch happened to be the closest place from where we parked up. Table for 3 was instantly available to us.
Usually at Shoryu Ramen I’m a diehard fan of the ultra super garlicky Dracula Tonkotsu but this time round I decided to play with Fire and Ice.
Fire and Ice is an award-winning dish granted to by the Great Taste awards. Ice Cold Ramen with salmon and thin slices of pork belly, nitamago egg and kikurage mushrooms, spring onions and ginger displayed on a wooden mat with a bowl of ice underneath to keep it cold. Where’s the fire? It’s the bowl of hot green wasabi tonkotsu dipping sauce.
How did it taste?
Refreshingly good, a combination of smoky salmon dipped in that hot wasabi deep pork broth was superb! I like how I got some fish and the usual pork belly with my ramen. Wasabi broth was different but not over powering to make you weep.
How much?
