While there’s much to be said for spas with sprawling facilities (like last week’s ITC Kaya Kalp), sometimes true tranquility can be found when we think smaller. On the Croatian coast, boutique property Brown Beach House has unveiled a newly updated spa that provides the ultimate relaxation by the Adriatic sea.
Set within the greenery of a walled garden, Brown Beach House evokes a Mediterranean feel, with a stunning black-and-white marble pool as its focal point. Where other spas opt for neutral tones and indistinct decor to give guests a peaceful experience, stepping inside Brown Beach House reveals a more spirited approach to interior design. The walls are covered in emerald-colored herringbone tile to match the lush landscape outside, giving guests a sense of place. Mirrored ceilings with modern lighting look down on a textured octagonal tile floor, complemented by wooden furniture and verdant plant life throughout.
The full-service spa affords guests the opportunity to unwind with massages, beauty treatments and nail services on site. Book the signature Mediterranean relax massage for a full-body treatment or, to get back to sunning yourself by the pool faster, try the partial-body energizing massage. The de-stress face, neck and hands massage treatment is ideal for relieving tension after a flight, or even for finding a sense of calm before you depart.
Located in quaint Trogir on the island Ciovo, Brown Beach House finds its home in a small town of only 12,000, so you can feel at ease avoiding a tourist trap for your spa-cation. The boutique hotel comprises just 25 suites in a 20th-century tobacco warehouse, but the most sumptuous stay will be had in the hotel’s 914 sq ft Presidential Luxury Suite on the top floor. Overlooking the Dalmatian coast, the king-size suite comes complete with a dining room, living area and bathroom with walk-in rainfall shower. The suite features contemporary touches as well as hints of the building’s former state for a vibrant mix of then and now.
Brown Beach House is located at Put Gradine 66, Trogir 21200, Croatia. For more information, please visit brownhotels.com/croatia.
