Spa of the Week: The Peninsula Beverly Hills Spa

The Peninsula Beverly Hills (a Forbes Five Star-rated property) is one of the most glamorous hotels in the US. Recently, its Spa underwent a major renovation, revealing 4,600 sq ft of refurbished treatment rooms, lounge areas and brand-new features. Located on the fifth floor of the hotel near the pool and restaurant, The Spa is not to be missed during your stay.

Conceptualized by Beverly Hills-based interior design firm, Forchielli Glynn, new features at The Spa include pink Himalayan salt dry saunas that helps release serotonin resulting in a more positive mood; a hair-and-makeup studio; outdoor pool spa cabana; and an updated Serenity Lounge with ginger-and-turmeric shots, fruit-infused waters, healthy snacks and adult coloring books.

Not only did these common areas receive a sleek upgrade, The Spa has plenty of new additions to its menu focusing on wellness-centric therapies and treatments and medically backed offerings with high-tech machines.

Don’t miss the new Medical Beauty Research (MBR) Age-Defying Customized Facial. Using patented technology, the custom facial extracts higher concentrations of medical-grade active ingredients to treat every layer of your skin from the dermal layer to the cellular level. This help’s restore cell functions, firmness and elasticity. Customized to whatever ails you, the three-step facial first preps your skin with a peel and infuses it with moisture. It helps with wrinkle reduction, sun damage and sagging skin. The result? Vibrant skin and a visibly youthful and radiant complexion.

There are plenty of anti-aging treatments, but if you’re after something more relaxing opt for a custom massage; reflexology; a body treatment (with scrubs, polishes and detoxes on offer); nails; beauty treatments; and even fitness classes (kick boxing, yoga or outdoor hikes with a trainer); or personal training sessions.

There are few things not available at the spa, whether you want someone to help set up a nutritional program for you; organize an in-room treatment; or a fully customized spa treatment during your stay to alleviate any problems you have.

Book the two-story Peninsula Villa while you’re here. Enter through a private gate to this completely private hideaway. The residential-style accommodation has a grand foyer, living area, private patio (with a Jacuzzi), eight-person dining table, kitchen; two bedrooms and marble bathrooms. There’s a distinct Asian style throughout from Chinoiserie panels and classical Asian furnishings but paired with trendy Los Angeles flair.
