Spectrum, an integrated technology and innovation business club, got under way two days ago, and with a firm base and great expectations. The club is a first for Singapore, and seeks to create a seamless ecosystem for businesses looking to expand into Asia or Singapore itself. It knows how the traditional business model has evolved, so by offering a curated counsel, the appropriate resources and networks needed, it hopes to help companies grow in more ways than one.
It will focus on the following six sectors: finance, education, healthcare, fashion, food and housing. As far as the ecosystem goes,
The founders are Cheryl Lee – also the co-founder of the One Rochester Group – and Shirley Crystal Chua, who’s known for starting the Golden Equator. Also on board as a partner and key resident member is Mistletoe, a collective founded by Taizo Son, the serial Japanese entrepreneur who built his fortune on the hit phone game Puzzle & Dragons. It orchestrates innovative start-ups, turning ideas into world impacts.
“Together with Golden Equator and Mistletoe, Spectrum wants to redefine how businesses can scale and grow,” notes Cheryl Lee. “[We will curate] an ecosystem that facilitates business-making across a company’s growth journey, and we want to provide a powerful and accessible platform committed to empowering businesses of the future.”
Taizon Son, who just relocated to Singapore last year, is just as psyched. “We are excited to deepen our footprint in Southeast Asia with Spectrum, to revolutionise the business landscape and build an ecosystem through access, networks and connections.”
The club, located on the fifth level, DUO, spans across 28,000 square feet. There are also two kinds of memberships offered. Resident members will station their headquarters within Spectrum, while non-residents (who will make up the majority) are welcome to come in to network at their free will. There are plenty of desks, meeting rooms, presentation halls, a lounge and C-Suite business enclave.
Resident memberships begin at $600 a month per head, while the non-resident begins at $360. Benefits range from member to member, and that includes quarterly macro reports, access to market entry research and intel, consultancy services at preferred rates and more. There’s a concierge designed to be at your beck and call, as well as an app, simply to make your life a lot easier.
Spectrum is located at 3 Fraser Street, DUO Tower, 05-21. Reach them at 6911 4588 or concierge@spectrum.global
