The youngest entrant in our speedy sports car review series — it arrived late in the first quarter of 2018 — Alfa Romeo Giulia is a fun drive. It’s made for thrill-seekers, with a turbo-powered engine that produces almost 200bhp and absolute torque of 330Nm — no surprise because the marque has an illustrious racing heritage.
While it might not seem the most robust, it is a pleasurable drive nonetheless with its rear-wheel drive performance. The car’s engineering allows for excellent weight distribution so it feels light and nimble on the road. The Alfa Torque Vectoring technology also results in better stability and torque control. But if you want more under the hood, go for the Giulia Veloce with 280bhp, or the Giulia Quadrifoglio for 510bhp, with its six-cylinder engine inspired by Ferrari.
The car makes for a relaxed everyday drive for drivers. It is fitted with assistance systems including Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Brake, Lane Departure Warning and an optional Blind Spot Monitoring.
