The Phoenician generally makes most lists of iconic American resorts, and while it only dates about 30 years, times keep changing and today’s luxury clientele is more likely to include families and want fun.
Already with nine pools, The Luxury Collection property is taking into account the trend towards multi-generational vacations as well as more and more families with both older and younger children. Coming in May is Surge, a water park experience that will include a splash pad and water cannon.
Of course, once you are done splashing around, a trip to the movies might be in order. Or in this case to The Phoenix Museum of Art for the “Hollywood Costume” exhibit celebrating a century of cinematic dress-up with actual costumes from classics such as The Wizard of Oz, Harry Potter and Titanic. As a sponsor the hotel has VIP tickets so you don’t have to wait in line or book in advance. The museum is also an excellent venue for private events. The exhibit runs March 26 to July 6.
And while the entire Phoenician is quite plush, a further emphasis is being placed on marketing its Canyon Suites, described as a hotel within the resort. The Canyon Suites recently notched their second consecutive five-star award from Forbes.
