Today Uber and Spotify confirmed that they’ve inked a deal to bring Spotify’s music streaming service inside Uber cars.
The match is meant to bring Spotify’s popular streaming service to Uber customers when they use the on-demand car service,
Any in-car entertainment system with the right input ports or Bluetooth support can stream music from a smartphone, but Spotify streaming will be integrated directly into the Uber app for complete simplicity.

Being a back-seat DJ could well be a strong selling point for potential Uber users on longer trips and the feature could also be used by Spotify to highlight another potential benefit to subscribing rather than using the ad-supported free tier of its music service.
However, the new feature could well test the patience of many Uber drivers — especially if they’re not big fans of Meghan Trainor, Maroon 5 or Sam Smith, the most streamed artists currently on the service.
