I always envied Taiwan night markets, selling hawker items and especially the street food. It’s another foodie’s destination bucket list I need to tick off. Hawker House from the Street Feast people is located by Canada Water taken over by the abandon warehouse, which was once one of Decathlon stores.
Being inside a warehouse it means you can come rain or shine free entry before 7pm on the Friday or the Saturday. I headed down on Saturday for some dinner, roaming through the stalls. There’s plenty of benches to sit down and a bar section for drinks.
I only had room for some buns and tacos. Yum Bun is the stall for tasty gao bao’s filled with different toppings. One of the fluffiest buns you can find in London nice garnishes and homemade sauces.
It was the first time trying Breddos Tacos, and believe me their tacos are super addictive. Beautifully presented with the freshest ingredients, my fish one was deep fried in a crispy light batter garnished with herbs, mayo.
Last stop is one of favourite nitrogen ice cream parlours Chin Chin lab. Trust them to come up with fun flavour combinations to tickle the taste buds and textures.
