Yalla Yalla Shoreditch is a pop up food place hidden along the area, with other food trucks sharing the confined space. The Beirut street food promises Middle Eastern and Lebanese food.
My friend and I both got a street platter set meal with a drink for just under £10, served on a shiny silver thali with some hot and cold mezes with a shawarma wrap. A total bargain in my opinion, delicious hummus and warm bread quickly filled me up and the little parcels of Samboussek Jibne filled with feta, halloumi and mint was just gorgeous. The chicken sharwarma was a little dry, however it was very flavoursome; the wrapped was grilled perfectly with a slight crisp.
I did get to try my friend’s lamb sharwarma and the marinated lamb pieces were succulent and juicy. The pickled vegetables added another depth and texture to the wrap.
Overall I think it’s a great way to taste the food without going to their restaurant and it’s worth the price, a complete meal for under £10 and yes I’ve already been back.
