JULY 25, 2015
Japanese hanaibi (fireworks) displays are more extravagant than most of those in Western cultures and this event is the highlight of the summer. The oldest fireworks festival on record, dating back to the 18th century, it is attended by tens of thousands of locals wearing traditional yukata. There are two main bridges along the river from which you can take in the extravaganza, or why not charter a boat down the Sumida River?
