As the weather warms up it’s time to start thinking about sun safety. If you aren’t regularly applying sunscreen every day, you should be, as it’s our best defense against aging and skin cancer.
For prolonged sun exposure, whether it be relaxing on the beach or going for a hike, you should be looking for a sunscreen with a SPF of at least 30. You should also make sure to apply it 15-20 minutes before heading outside, as sunscreen that is applied in direct sunlight may evaporate before it has a chance to bond with the skin, making it less effective.
The amount of sunscreen you apply is also important, for the average adult, two to three tablespoons should be more than enough to cover your body, while one teaspoon applied to the face will help you to the avoid fine lines and wrinkles we all dread.
So before you head out for some fun in the sun, apply one of these seven sunscreens from my favorite beauty brands such as Amore Pacific and Shiseido.
