This May, the Summit Medical Group Foundation Gala & Auction raised $1.35 million to improve healthcare access for local New Jersey communities while educating future leaders in the industry. The event honored Summit Medical Group’s (SMG) past work in New Jersey and ensured the continued success of the largest and oldest physician-owned multi-specialty medical practice in the state.
Summit Medical Group Foundation Gala a Night to Remember
Held in Cedar Grove, the Gala drew 800 guests, including NBC’s “Late Night” host and ex “Saturday Night Live” star Seth Meyers. Guests enjoyed a night of fine, gourmet dining, exclusive live and silent auction prizes, along with celebrity entertainment. The auction offered unparalleled access to events, vacations and fashion. The right donation landed guests spectacular prizes such as an intimate, solo acoustic performance from Bruce Springsteen, a private chef experience for ten, getaways to the Caribbean, Tuscany, Napa Valley and Aspen, as well as products from designers like Louis Vuitton, Prada and Gucci.
At the event, Dr. Michael Wax and Dr. Kenneth Adler received Vision & Legacy Awards for their exceptional efforts at the Summit Medical Group MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Fundraising Success to Improve New Jersey Healthcare Access
All donations, of course, forwarded the Summit Medical Group mission to provide free wellness screenings, support mentorship programs and burgeon scholarships for medical students. In 2018, the Summit Medical Group Foundation Gala surpassed all previous fundraising totals, marking its most successful year to date. SMG Foundation Executive Director Joe Finocchiaro said these funds will support “those who are truly committed to education in medicine, free screenings, and mentorship programs” throughout New Jersey.
With more than 80 locations in seven Northern New Jersey counties, Summit Medical Group comprises 800 practitioners covering 80 medical specialties and services. The SMG Foundation Gala helps strengthen the group’s presence in various communities, advancing its capability of providing healthcare to the disadvantaged and underprivileged. After another inspirational night, the Summit Medical Group Foundation has positioned itself well for another year of important, good work in the New Jersey community.
