Luxury shipbuilding company Sunreef Yachts has unveiled a new eco sailing catamaran — the Sunreef 43M Eco. Fully customisable like the Sunreef 140 “sailing super-catamaran”, the 43M Eco is the solar-assisted version. The multihull has exceptional levels of comfort and unlimited range — the true embodiment of sustainable yachting.
The Polish builder’s Eco range features state-of-the-art green technology such as unlimited sailing range due to solar cells in the bodywork, mast and boom. Electricity is generated from these cells and it powers the twin 200-kW engines for a fume-free motoring experience.
In addition, the 43M Eco’s smart-power and water-management systems monitor and optimise energy consumption respectively — allows it to keep producing clean power under sail. This is possible through the advanced hydro-generation system.
This sustainable 140ft catamaran boats an alfresco lounging and dining area in the aft as well as a wide walkaround beach club when the hydraulic platform is lowered and two fold-out bulwark terraces open. There is also space for a bar, outdoor movie theatre, gym and massage room in the relaxation area that makes up most of the yacht. Underneath the cockpit is a hidden garage that is large enough to house an inflatable catamaran.
As part of Sunreef’s holistic approach to green yachting, the interiors are fully customisable and utilises a variety of sustainably-sourced materials and fabrics. Furthermore, the catamaran will also be equipped with an energy-saving air-conditioning system. The 43M Eco can host up to twelve guests and seven crew.
