In celebration of 55 years of its famed Carrera watch, TAG Heuer unveils a limited-edition chronograph that combines the chronograph tracking function with the brand’s tourbillon escapement. Crafted in a midnight blue ceramic 45mm case with ceramic bezel, the new Carrera timepiece features a tachymeter scale for measuring speeds and a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Even the movement, the Heuer-02T caliber with a “Viper’s Head” tourbillon, features touches of blue for a cohesive and contemporary look. The dial is black skeletonized and the chronograph counters are blue. The watch holds the “Tête de Vipère” certification of excellence, as issued by Besançon Observatory. This prestigious stamp has only been awarded to 500 watches since 2006, when Besançon Observatory (originally founded in 1897) relaunched its certification. It is given only after the watch (as a whole and not just the movement) is subjected to and passes 16 days of intense testing in five positions and at three different temperatures.
