Luxury watch brands are beginning to join the smartwatches race, with TAG HEUER kicking things off.
The Swiss watchmaker is apparently working with Intel on a smartwatch that could make its first public appearance at the 2015 International CES in Las Vegas on January 6.
WHAT DO THE WATCHMAKERS THINK OF APPLE WATCH?
The smartwatch is expected to ditch a colorful touchscreen in favor of a classical analog watch face, which will conceal its digital capabilities.
Potential functions such as incoming call notifications or other alerts are therefore expected to be displayed via physical dials or sweeping hands.
According to Business Insider, the smartwatch will also track data on calories burned, steps taken and the sleep patterns of the owner.
The fact that the device is set to be powered by Intel should come as no surprise, as the chip-maker has made its wearable technology ambitions abundantly clear in recent times.
The US company will be providing the technology behind an upcoming range of Fossil devices and is collaborating with Opening Ceremony to produce a luxury smart bracelet called MICA (pictured below).
