Wildly inventive, the Campana brothers, Humberto and Fernando, are the celebrated São Paulo design team who made the famous Banquete chair (2002), composed of stuffed toys, and then created its acclaimed opposite, the Favela armchair (2003), constructed of scraps of wood like the homemade shacks in Brazil’s slums. Today we make a tour to a beautiful house designed by the company! Come with us!

The brothers grew up on a small farm in Brotas, 150 miles north of the city, and though much of their inspiration can be found in the streets and small shops that surround the studio, they’ve become increasingly interested in the materials found naturally in Brazil’s rainforests.

Since 2015, Maison & Objet tradeshow choses one Designer of the Year for each event. Maison & Objet 2016 Paris has set that each of these two designers must fit within the profile of each of the Paris shows, that is, a more product design-oriented profile in January and a designer more closely related to the world of interior architecture or decor for September.
