Where to Dine in Hong Kong for Valentine’s Day 2020

"The way to a man's/woman's heart is through his/her stomach (delete where appropriate)" is an age old saying that we fully stand by at Prestige and hence, we thought it imperative to find out where the best places to dine for Valentine's Day are in Hong Kong. From the traditionally romantic to the fun, contemporary and down right cool, here are our top seven restaurant destinations and their menus to sample for a lovely evening for you and yours.

SOMM

Inspired and led by some of Hong Kong's best sommeliers, you're not wrong to assume that SOMM's Valentine's Day menu includes great wines. Offering an exquisite four or six-course dinner, the Valentine's Day menu features three or five Krug Champagnes respectively. Think fresh Ebisu oysters served with a spiced tomato granite paired with the delightful Krug Grande Cuvée 166eme Edition NV from a magnum bottle, an indulgent Boston lobster à L'américaine with sumptuous veal bone marrow and winter roots, finished with a strawberry and rose petal Baked alaska flambéed to perfection with Krug Grande Cuvée NV from a Jeroboam. This is romance worth toasting to!

Price: 4-course dinner with 3 Krug Champagnes for HK$1,988 +10% per person; 6-course dinner with 5 Krug Champagnes for HK$2,988 + 10% per person
Date/Times: 14 February from 5:30pm to 6:00pm (table return by 7:45pm) for first seating; from 8:00pm onwards for second seating

SOMM, The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, 7/F, 15 Queen's Road Central; +852 2132 0033

Henry

Over at southern inspired American steakhouse and smokehouse Henry, Chef Nathan Green has created a four-course Valentine's Day menu with plenty of options to choose from. From Seafood trays with the freshest daily catch and a Cold smoked steak tartare, to USDA Prime Wagyu tenderloin or a classic Thermador lobster served with a whole host of side dishes. It is of course, finished with a choice of desserts but we'd definitely recommend the cornbread soufflé topped with crunchy bacon bits, and bourbon caramel to finish. We suggest you both go very hungry.

Price: 4-course dinner HK$1,998 + 10% per person
Date/Time: 14 February from 6:00pm to 10:30 pm

Henry, 5/F Rosewood Hong Kong, 18 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui;+852 3891 8732

Another for meat lovers, the Argentinian steakhouse Buenos Aires Polo Club is made for a lavish date night. Carnivorous couples can order to share or indulge in signature dishes such as Grilled bone marrow with the full-bodied oxtail Malbec jam or select from their prime cuts. Whether you prefer the Tenderloin or Sirloin cut of flavourful General Pico Argentine pure Black Angus beef steak, make sure to pair it with an Argentinian wine from their extensive lists to enhance the whole experience.

Price: A la carte from HK$218 for the Grilled bone marrow

TokyoLima

At this late night izakaya-inspired restaurant, a couples' sharing menu has been created to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Here, Peruvian Culinary Director Arturo Melendez has included his signature La Causa potato dish, the vegetarian Los Andes and a favourite of ours: the Just “Ceviche” which is made with fresh seabass, onion, coriander, nori and mouth puckering yellow chilli tiger’s milk. Thereafter, dishes such as Tiradito de Pulpo with Galician octopus and the crowd-pleasing Maguro Nuevo rolls are likely to induce nods of approval while the aptly names Cupido dessert -- featuring chocolate cheesecake, strawberry jam and strawberry sorbet -- finishes it all off on a sweet note.

Price: 4-course dinner HK$470 +10% per person; additional HK$200 per person for a glass of Prosecco and Normandy oysters
Date/Time: 14 February from 6:00pm to midnight

Roganic

Awarded its first Michelin star in Hong Kong this year, contemporary British restaurant Roganic is already a popular haunt for those who like to dine. So if you or your other half is a discerning foodie, this is one for you. The Valentine's Day menu presents a dinner with some of their signature and seasonal favourites including the decadent Berkswell pudding, Prawn toast with pike perch roe, Sea urchin custard with caviar, Japanese salmon with cucumber and corn, and much, much more. The smaller bites and dishes are a great way to enjoy a date, with talking points throughout and even a Valentine's Day cocktail, Raspberry cheesecake and delightfully airy Rose doughnuts.
