Established as recently as 1992, Bell & Ross is already internationally renowned as a premier watchmaker for pilots, astronauts, divers, and even bomb-disposal experts. There’s an inherent toughness that defines their timepieces, which perfectly complements the personality of their clientele — the bold and intrepid urban explorer and professional. So when the French horologer launched its newest uber cool, performance-based BR 05 collection — the BR 05 Black Steel, BR 05 Grey Steel and BR 05 Blue Steel — excitement streaked through the air like a fighter jet. 

Given the specialised nature of these markets, each timepiece delivers precise, advanced technical functionality and reliability. This can be credited partly to the automatic movement of the BR-CAL 321 caliber watches. What is an unexpected surprise, however, is the stylish package this superior technology comes wrapped in. This takes the form of an integrated construction, wherein the steel bracelet melds seamlessly with the steel case to create a single unified unit. 

Another interesting design feature of the BR 05 watches are their round dials, which sit within a square setting, reminiscent of and inspired by the clocks seen in an airplane’s cockpit. Giving these timepieces a contemporary touch, though, is their super glossy, satin-polished veneer, which extends from their 40mm cases lined by silky smooth bevels, down the entire length of its steel straps. And despite its tough material, the flexibility of the latter is such that it wraps comfortably around the wearer’s wrist. A ribbed rubber strap alternative, however, is also available for those days when a fashionable change is in order.

The dials of the BR 05 range come in a three defining colours — jet black, silvery grey and an electric blue. Each offers an impactful background to the Super-LumiNova® indices, numerals and hands, providing much-needed, highly enhanced legibility. Another model with a skeletal dial that allows one to actually see the operating mechanism underneath is also part of the very manly BR 05 collection.

Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer has announced new additions to its league of ambassadors, which already include the likes of Cara Delevingne, Bella Hadid and Chris Hemsworth. In the realm of sports, the brand continues to tap into emerging talents and has turned to the world of tennis to select three rising stars: Félix Auger-Aliassime (19 years old), Alex de Minaur (20 years old) and Frances Tiafoe (21 years old) as their new ambassadors.

The bright, young tennis trio join another young talent, Canadian tennis player Denis Shapovalov (20 years old), who has represented the luxury brand since 2017, when he shot to fame beating tennis legend Rafael Nadal at the Coupe Rogers in Montreal. The four tennis stars feature in the new Break Tennis campaign, which sees them all in action: moving forward with determination and precision in order to make history and, therefore, break records. The brand also continues with its #DontCrackUnderPressure hashtag -- a signature slogan from the brand.

By enlisting this new generation of athletes, TAG Heuer not only draws awareness to their skills while marking them as the players to watch, but it also helps to capture a younger audience's attention. Off the court, the talented foursome will also be wearing TAG Heuer timepieces which include the Carrera Calibre 16 Day-Date, the Aquaracer Calibre 5, Acquaracer quartz and the Connected Modular (see below, left to right).

In a statement issued by TAG Heuer, fourth-best American and highest-ranking American tennis player in his age group Tiafoe said, “I love the fact that TAG Heuer is taking on so many young players and that it wants to build something bigger with us. I look forward to building something unbelievable together.”

TAG Heuer has also partnered with the Italian Tennis Federation to become the official watch provider and official timekeeper of the Next Gen ATP Finals, an event showcasing the future stars of the ATP World Tour at the end of the season.
