From far, this installation looks like a gigantic spider web woven around old trees. However, this large white structure is actually made from transparent sticky tape. While there are no mutant spiders crawling through, the installation (located in Hasselt, Belgium) invites people to crawl through the web of tendon tunnels and small spaces. European design collective Numen/For Use created this installation by stretching, sticking and wrapping thick layers of tape around pillars, beams and trees to create a large structure durable enough to support human weight. The idea for this project was originally conceived for a set design of a dance performance.
