Actors Kunal Thakkur and Mrunal Jain join hands for Tennis Premier League
It is their love for the game that has made actor Kunal Thakkur and Mrunal Jain come together to start a tennis tournament titled Tennis Premier League(TPL). What’s special about this league is that it gives a chance to people of all age groups to play in one tournament. “Tennis Premier League was conceptualized to motivate and give a bigger platform to all these tennis players. Mrunal is like a brother to me since the time we started acting and I am very happy that we share the same vision and passion to take tennis to the next level in India,” says Kunal.
In fact, they both came up with the idea of the tournament. “Kunal is one of the closest friends of mine from the industry. We both had started our careers together. He is like a brother to me. We always take suggestions from each other. We both came up with the idea of the Tennis Premier League. I had a vision, he had the game. We took the game and vision together to the next level,” says Mrunal.
The concept of the tournament is unique because it will be a platform for good and deserving players all over India to come and play the game together. In fact, the game will also give a chance to the differently abled and wheelchair tennis players to showcase their talent.
Alike other tournaments, TPL will also have a lot of glamour and entertainment. “Each team will be represented by a celebrity. Tennis as a sport is very popular in India and a lot of people play it but nobody comes to watch it. With TPL, we plan to change this and get a huge audience to watch every match,” promises Kunal.
