The 20th annual car auction returns in March at Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance
The 20th annual car auction will take place at Amelia Island, Florida on March 10, with 100 cars on offer, reflecting starkly different parts of the spectrum from pre-War classics to modern sports cars and late model collectibles.
Gord Duff, Global Head of Auctions, RM Sotheby’s said this right after the January’s sale: “Our top lots such as the 1966 Shelby 427 Cobra S/C and the 1948 Tucker 48 show that demand remains strong for rare, well-documented, expertly restored automobiles that are priced attractively.”
The previous auction sales (19th annual Arizona sales) have garnered much excitements and record-sales, with a total value of approximately $36.5 million and 88 per cent of all lots sold during the car week. The event organiser also reported that the star of the sale included the 1964 Ferrari 250 GT/L Berlinetta Lusso, 1960 Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet Series II, 2017 Ferrari F12tdf as well as a Bugatti EB110 GT that were all sold above the one million dollar mark.
As RM Sotheby’s auction returns this March, the 20th annual car auction will show the power of no-reserve lots to attract multiple bidders and send prices over the estimate, such as the 1960 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I BT7, which is expected to fetch a value between $70,000 and $90,000 at auction.

Manufactured in 1952, the Healey 100 combined Donald Healey’s sound chassis design with a sleek “envelope” body designed by Gerry Coker and carried the overhead-valve Austin A90 four-cylinder engine.
Restored by renowned marque specialists Healey Lane, the left-hand-drive Austin-Healey 3000 also features an enlarged engine with front disc brakes, as well as the 185 × 15 road speed tires turn on Dunlop 60-spoke chrome wire wheels. As a result, the highly-developed Austin-Healey 3000 has been modified to a certain specification so that it could be taken for a spin either on- or off-the-track.
The Healey 3000 presented here features a bespoke finish in Gun Metal Gray and Colorado Red. The interior is completely brand-new, showing the red seats with red piping, matching wool carpets and panels, a new trunk kit, new side curtains, a black soft top, and a black tonneau cover.
Other mechanical components of this Healey 3000 includes the engine, transmission, overdrive, and all ancillary systems were fully rebuilt using all-new parts. No expense was spared in its restoration. The future buyer of this car will receive the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate.
