Since its official opening in March 2017, Atlas has drawn Singapore’s tastemakers through its impressive doors. A 15-metre-high gin tower is the focal point of this velvet-clad bar, which is housed in the formidable Parkview Square. Opulence and luxury are bywords for Atlas – as are terrific drinks. This art deco-inspired night spot is best visited with a small group of friends, or that someone special, so dress up and make the most of the decadent surroundings and the incredible drinks menu.
LIFESTYLE TIP: Really impress your date by asking Head Sommelier Mason Ng for his Complete Journey Flight of six tasting champagnes.

If you’re after a laidback apero spot, without all the pomp but with brilliantly made drinks, then Pahit is just what you need. This gin-focussed bar sits in one of Kuala Lumpur’s most exciting neighbourhoods – where niche coffee shops, boutique hotels and vibrant eateries are all beginning to arrive. We love the comfy rattan chairs set on the outside terrace, where you can while away the hours with friends, refreshing G&T in hand.
LIFESTYLE TIP: Don’t forget to get your Insta-snap next to the neon outdoor sign.

Dr. Fern’s Gin Parlour, Hong Kong
Hidden away on the basement floor of Landmark Atrium, Dr. Fern’s is the perfect place to duck in for either a quick aperitif or a full evening of mischief. An incredible range of gins await in this compact cubbyhole of a bar, where the seating is limited and decor is equal parts inviting and intimate. Be sure to book a spot if you’re heading down after office-hours, and once you finally find yourself in front of the waiting-room doors, make sure you use the one on the right-hand side.

We don’t know what we like more at the Sober Society: the people, the place or the drinks. Luckily, a visit means you get to enjoy all three. Sober Society is one floor in a three-section complex named Sober Company (the other two parts are made up of Sober Café and Sober Kitchen), and an achingly cool spot for people who want expertly made drinks without any added pretension. Space is at a premium in this moody, barely lit bar, so be prepared to stand. If you can nab them, settle in at the counter to watch the masters at work.
LIFESTYLE TIP: Scotch connoisseurs should order the heady, hearty Godfather III.
