The Nike Air Max Pre-Day, a sneaker with a silhouette that hearkens back to the late ‘70s—the golden era of Nike’s jogging shoes—but remains situated firmly in contemporary design.
Because of the sneaker’s retro-meets-modern feel, they take quite friendly to a bevy of styling options. Dress them down with sweats for a casual but cool shopping run or pair them with more formal attire for a holiday party look that isn’t overly stuffy. For his shoot with Nike, Daniel Toni Jais pairs the Pre-Days in a black colorway with some loose khaki pants, a white shirt, a warm winter blazer, and a Nike cap for that sporty meets formalwear kind of look. Graphic and bold colors are always a safe Holiday option, and these Pre-Days fit the bill. Regardless of how you wear them, each step will be one taken in comfort. This model, in particular, reduces the amount of layers between the foot and the Air pad, to allow for a bounce you can count on.
It’s these types of innovations, pioneered by Nike’s Air MI Lab, that set the Pre-Day at a cut above the rest. Not only does the its slick design make it an easy option for a last-minute gift, but the design ethos is one you can stand behind. The construction of the Air Max Pre-Day minimizes material waste with at least 20 percent recycled content by weight. While the upper is composed of 100 percent recycled polyester, the outsole is made from 13 percent Nike Grind Rubber. During a season marked by decadent consumption, these numbers speak for themselves.
The shoe is now available to shop on Zalando.
