The Brockley Mess.

My best friend Emma turned 22 last week, so last weekend she had a little family afternoon tea to celebrate, where we had the most amazing chocolate cake ever, and then last night was the 'party' at her Uni house. Needless to say it was messy. Very messy. So this morning we headed down the road to The Brockley Mess seeking hangover food.

A favourite for both Goldsmiths Uni students and families, The Brockley Mess feels as though it should be in West London, but instead, it is surrounded by funeral parlours, convenience stores and betting shops in South-East London. Although the screaming children did absolutely nothing to help the hangover, the food did.

Please excuse the no make-up look goin' on.
I had my usual - sweet french toast with fruit, and with fries and garlic mayo on the side. It made me very happy, and filled a gaping hole in my tummy.

The cafe itself is light, clean and airy, and has a really fabulous art gallery at the back. The staff were great, and it was perfect for our Saturday morning musings of 'Oh my godd, what happened last night!?' whilst we held our heads reflecting on the Bohemian Rhapsody karaoke and air-guitaring, and the making of a number of unusual and very potent cocktails.

If you live in the area - check it out, I promise it will be worth it! Emma had the breakfast burrito and says it's her favourite item on the menu (she's worked her way through everything), and Dannii had the same as me.

Happy birthday again my Romy! Lots of love Michele x
