It is important to follow your dreams and this is what ace fashion designer Rajdeep Ranawat reflects with the brand. After education at The Lawrence School, Sanawar, Rajdeep went on to graduate from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi in 2000. He gained vast exposure and experience with a French fashion house based in Paris, ‘ISHWAR, S.A.’ and trained himself in European embroideries, colours and, silhouettes under the guidance of various commercial French designers. Thereafter, he was appointed as the ‘chief designer’ for a New York-based fashion house, and designed for the likes of brands such as Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor, etc…. only to give him enough aptitude to launch his own brand label in 2004 for the domestic and the overseas markets. He fused European culture in terms of colours and embroideries and combined the feel of the Orient, the commercial charm of vintage and the essence of the generic cuts of his silhouettes that ooze elegance and create stance for all.
‘Rajdeep Ranawat’, the label first launched in Oct ’2004 is synonymous to women with an aura of glamour and charisma.
Concentrating on ‘art to wear’, deeply inspired with nature as the foremost mentor, the embellishments and embroideries with the use of exquisite materials in terms of silk and metallic threads, beads, pearls, sequins and, SWAROVSKI elements. With silhouettes generic to all sizes, fabrics only pure, prints that are original, embellishments so rich, indeed enough to make a dazzling statement.
According to Rajdeep Ranawat, keeping the current fashion industry scenario with the economy, he feels that there is a control in terms of the spending power of clients today. And seeing that, he also feels that the brand needs to continuously cater to the clients something novel and unique all the time but control the price of the product as well.
The brand specializes in artistic and detailed engineered prints highlighted with light embroideries and Swarovski crystals, when it comes to luxury couture which is not only lightweight but also affordable as well.
Their printed lehengas teamed with tunics, jackets or when a simple printed Lycra blouse is highlighted in tonal Swarovski crystals which add to the luxury the quotient of the ensemble. They also create embroidered belts, bags and shoes to match the which completes the look as well as keeps the MRP in check overall of the ensemble itself.
Affordable couture is the way ahead as it’s only worn once or twice…
They believe that we need to be conscious of the product as well as the customer today and give them a quality product that is timeless and makes them feel beautiful as the person that they are.
Today, the label ‘Rajdeep Ranawat’ sells through India’s premier multi-designer stores namely: Ogaan, L’affaire, Fuel, Mogra, Elan, Deval, Elahe, Manomay, Armadio, Sasya, Collage, Zenon etc apart from countries like Hong Kong, South Africa, Jakarta, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, New York, London, France, Sweden, Spain etc..
