Cartier and The Hour Glass are paying tribute to the iconic Cartier Tank with an immersive pop-up at the Malmaison by The Hour Glass.
The exclusive experience takes you through a journey to discover the Tank watch design, an iconic signature in Cartier watchmaking. Prized for the purity of its design, the Cartier Tank has been a genderless icon for a century.
For the very first time in Asia, the Cartier Tank Experience features a sophisticated strap bar, where visitors can customise their own Tank Must creation.
The Cartier Tank has attracted the likes of Andy Warhol, Muhammad Ali, Michelle Obama, and Dua Lipa — gracing the wrists of many prominent figures in the past century. Legend has it that Louis Cartier himself drew a parallel between the architecture of the Tank watch and the design of a combat vehicle viewed from above. The brancards, or sidebars, were the tracks and the case was the turret.
The Tank Must is a chic revisited version of the Cartier Tank, while still staying faithful to the original with rounded edges and revisited dial proportions.
When asked what the Cartier Tank means to her, Cartier director of watchmaking, Marie-Laure Cérède, said: “I don’t wear a Tank watch to tell the time. Actually, I never even wind it. I wear a Tank because it is the watch to wear!”
The exclusive pop-up experience is available from October 27 to December 5. Register here to get your preferred date and time slot.
