The Infused Kettle is the brainchild of Shalini Raj, who is also a globetrotter and travel curator. It began as a journey wherein she realized that tea was missing from the menu and markets across the world. Sensing this as a golden opportunity, Shalini decided to launch the Indian variety of the beverage to a global audience.
The Infused Kettle came into being when a bunch of tea purists came together and decided to embark on a quest of discovering and delivering the most pristine tea from India to the world in the most orthodox way possible! With an aim to craft tea blends that emote and are an expression of warmth and affinity, the brand has grown leaps and bounds over a period of time. In a chat with TMM, Shalini talks about her love for tea and the future road map of her brainchild.

What was the idea behind starting The Infused Kettle?
When a group of tea purists agreed to embark on a quest to find and provide the most pristine tea from India to the world in the most convenient way possible, the infused kettle was born. Tea has been a staple in every social setting for decades, and generations have savoured it in a variety of ways. Others see it as a way of life, although others see it as a source of comfort. Our goal at the Infused Kettle is to bring people together through our comprehensive tea range, allowing them to bond and converse while enjoying deliciously brewed cups of flavour and wellbeing.
In India, tea is not just a beverage but a lifestyle. What makes your venture stand out of the box?
Our tea is blended tea with “Darjeeling Green tea as a base, except our Masala tea which is Assamtea blend. Each blend is curated keeping in mind what consumers would like to have , like our floral tea or fruity tea blends are for the people who love to try, our wellness range is a collection of blends that take care of our immunity since they are a mix of Ashwagandha, Giloy, Turmeric etc and for consumers who don’t have time to prepare it for themselves, the wellness range also has skin and hair care range like the hibiscus tea and the purple tea…..so at TIK we don’t have the regular tea as consumers have enough choices. These blends are for people who love to try something new and for whom tea drinking is an experience

Tell us about your special product called Anti Hangover Tea.
There are 2 variants -one is with green tea blended with various flowers that give a pleasant feeling when you drink it, the other is a coffee blended with blue cornflower and lemon and orange rind. The idea is, a lot of people have hangover issues and when I started this venture I wanted to come up with something that was ready for consumers as most of them don’t know what to do when there is a hangover. These ingredients have gone through various expert hands and been tested for their value to treat dehydration that’s the main concern when one has a hangover.

Suddenly there had been a spike in the immunity-boosting tea market in India. How effective are these teas?
Boosting the immune system with herbal therapies is not a new concept. This unique blend, on the other hand, is a very basic and quick way to boost your inner defences and give you feel-good vibes that will make you happy. Of course, the tea is curative, since it contains important anti corps that combat disease. It can not only boost your immunity, but it can also aid in the treatment of a variety of long-term health issues as well as weather-related issues.
For decades, these ingredients have been thought to induce resistance to various diseases in Indian medicine. They primarily boost immunity while also boosting the body’s antioxidant ability.
What are your future plans for The Infused Kettle?
The vision is to go global, infuse and make tea drinking an experience with health as the main focus. Each blend that is curated is done to add value to each consumer’s life, in terms of health, wellness, lifestyle, stress, flavours, and climate. We are not entering the current CTC market as consumers already have enough choices. So apart from India we are looking into serving the international markets of Eastern Europe, Nepal & Canada to start with. Also, the R & D team is working on various other blends as well as many products that we can make out of tea. You have to watch this space, the wait will be worth it!
