The Mark Hotel

This exclusive Upper East Side hotel is situated in a 1927 building and has been modernly renovated for today’s sophisticated traveler. There are just 16 floors that host 106 hotel rooms and 47 suites, plus a Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurant, Frédéric Fekkai salon and John Lobb shoe service. The hotel was designed by French interior designer Jacques Grange, who infused his creative and whimsical touch into all of the hotel’s public spaces and rooms. Known for its black-and-white striped floor in the lobby, contemporary furnishings and light fixtures with vibrant pops of color and sumptuous rooms that boast French elegance. The Mark has glorious programming, including everything from The Mark Sailboat (for private sunset cruises on the Hudson), The Mark Pedicabs, The Mark Bikes and Picnic by Jean-Georges, Treats by Ladurée, pet and children programming and even a wellness menu so you can remain your healthiest while on vacation. It’s going to be hard to pull yourself away from the hotel’s attentive service and creative activities, which take full advantage of New York.

The Mark Penthouse is the most expensive suite in the world, and if you stay here, you might never want to go home. On the top floor with a private rooftop terrace (filled with florals and greenery in the summer), there are also five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a library and dining room for 12 people. Its 26-ft-high vaulted ceiling with plenty of windows allows the natural light to flood through. Everything is decorated perfectly with an elegant, neutral color palette and custom furniture by Jacques Grange.
