You might not think of museums when you think about visiting Las Vegas, but there are some incredibly interesting museums that are well worth the visit when you get overloaded with the craziness of The Strip. The Mob Museum, officially named the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, examines some of the biggest crimes in America and educates you on why they were so impactful, which helped shape our current law enforcement today. There is also The Speakeasy, which showcases clothing from that age, a full-service bar designed as a classic speakeasy, videos, artifacts and how the Mob was so entwined with this notable era. Prohibition-era craft cocktails and bites are served here. There is also a distillery within the museum with an interactive exhibit on how the Mob would smuggle high-quality spirits into the country. The exhibit gives a peek inside bootleggers, rum runners and the illegal activity surrounding alcohol. There’s even a special-edition moonshine to purchase a a memento of your visit. Other exhibits include the Crime Lab, Organized Crime Today, The Underground, Historic Courtroom and Birth of the Mob.
