Meet Amitt Singh, a small town man with big dreams, who is all set to mark his presence in the web series world. After doing television shows like Dil Sambhal Ja Zara¸Shapath, Police Factory, and Yeh Hai Aashiqui, Amitt, a fashion graduate feels that all these opportunities have shaped him as a better performer and his life at fashion college has given him that confidence to face the camera. Amitt has a very keen eye for fashion trends and never hesitates in trying unconventional looks and styles. He’s equally keen for fitness and tries to follow a balanced diet.
You are a fashion graduate. How did acting happen to you?I always wanted to be an actor. I used to be very active in the cultural activities during my school and college days, but it took me a while to figure out that acting is my passion and rest everything is a fancy distraction. Being a fashion graduate from India’s leading fashion Institute, it really helped me in grooming myself and boosting my confidence and that strength stimulated me to face the camera and express myself.
Amitt Singh, Was there any discomfort from the family for you choosing an unconventional career?
Not at all! My family is my biggest strength. I’m the youngest in the lot, and free to take all the decisions in my life. Although coming from a service background, like my father is in police and my brothers have a secured job they did deep down want me to have one too, but they never spelt it out or made me question my decisions.
Amitt Singh, What’s the most exciting thing about acting?
I will say almost everything! Living different characters, learning new things, meeting new talents and the appreciation one gets for their performances. All this together makes it the perfect place for me as an individual and I feel fortunate enough to make it happen in this life.
After doing daily soaps, you will be soon seen in a web series. Tell us something about the show and your character.
This is my debut project for a digital platform and I’m really excited. This is the web-series produced by Baweja Movies and Applause Entertainment and directed by Jatin Waghle. This project is very close to my heart because it’s my first web project. I’m playing a cop from a small town so it’s also very special to me as I always saw my dad in uniform and wanted to wear one and I finally did for my character. My dad has always been my superhero who as a police officer who dedicated his life to his work. While living in the shoes of my character I often had flashbacks of my childhood and how I could see my small yet beautiful dreams come true. I’m playing a police officer, whose name is inspector Vinod Sharma, a B. Tech from BHU University who later joins the police force. So my character is an intelligent and honest police officer, who takes charge of a surveillance unit. This web series is based on a real-life incident and I’m playing a real-life character. I can’t disclose much about the project as of now, but I’m sure the audience is going to have an amazing experience while watching this show.
You are fashion conscious and very particular about your fitness. How do you define a balanced life?
Trust me; it’s not a tough job. Fashion and fitness both go together, if you are fit, you can pull off any outfit. Good health for me has always been a priority. When you are healthy, you can work out well and give your best to everything you do. So it is always the number 1 priority of each day of my life.
When it comes to acting, what kind of roles or genre excites you?
My journey has just started, so I’m open to experimenting with all genres and then see what I love the most. I feel as an actor if I get different roles and each character is unique that helps me learn something new will be the best space for me.
