Being a social media addict has its perks. I saw Zomato running a national curry week competition and happen to won the vouchers for a meal at The Regency Club for my Dockmaster post. You can go far with £50, so off I went to North-west London on a train to Queensbury for some Indian.
Lucky for us the restaurant is not far from the station. I didn’t do much research prior to my visit. I was expecting a fine dining restaurant. Little did I know once we had been buzzed in, a whole new world was behind those closed doors. The whole place was lit up and lively, music blasting, punters playing darts, barmen pulling pints. There’s plenty of room inside with booths and tables. The toilets had posters of Lily Allen, apparently it’s one of her favourites.
We were quickly seated in a booth with a long table. There are plenty of choices from the menu. Plus the food was very cheap and we even struggle to think of things to order to use up the £50.
We ordered a hella of a lot of food between the two of us; the table was filled to the rim with all our food, with our platters, curries, bread. All the food aromatic, consistent with deep flavours, the spice level is mild and my stomach managed to tolerant it well. I was particular in love with the brooding grilled meats from the platter. Oooh the curry just dissolved in my mouth instantly, tantalising the taste buds.
The portions were so tremendous that I had to takeaway 3 bags worth of food home and ate Indian for the next 3 days to finish it. £50 gets you a banquet and I advise to bring at least 4 people to feast like kings and queens.
