The One Barcelona could not be closer to the action. It sits just a block away from Casa Mila and the main shopping street Passeig de Gracia, but is a remarkably quiet and serene experience. You’ll find yourself best placed to discover Barcelona’s art and heritage along with the city’s golden mile of architecture and shopping. The project was lead by Chilean interior designer Jaime Beriestain with a clear focus on elegance. The neutral tones, beautiful light and stunning combinations of marble and woodwork creates an atmosphere of serious luxury. The eighty-eight chic rooms (53 rooms and 25 suites) follow the calm yet glamorous aesthetic of the hotel.
Stay
The Penthouse
From $1,695 per night
The Penthouse is a beautiful example of a city suite thanks to its large terrace that offers superb views over the rooftops. Your very own Jacuzzi is a welcome addition and a great spot to soak up the last of the sunshine after a day of exploring. Inside, there are subtle touches that feel luxurious and considered such as the sumptuous suede sofas, natural wood furnishings and brass fittings. Not forgetting the Natura Bissé toiletries which are a real treat.
Relax
If you can pull yourself out of your private Jacuzzi, the Despacio Spa is the perfect spot to regroup. Like the restaurant, it focuses on local traditions and uses locally-produced oils. The menu offers effective and original treatments for many concerns. The Fire & Ice treatment, acclaimed as one of Hollywood’s red-carpet treatments, ensures immediate results for all skin types.
Taste
The Somni Restaurant & Cocteleria cleverly combines traditional cuisine of Barcelona with subtle international touches using locally-sourced ingredients. Executive Chef Miguel Muñoz combines two of his passions; art and cooking to curate the ‘Through the Seasons’ Menu. Every dish on the menu began life as a sketch on his notepad before being brought to life on a plate. If you prefer to head for a cocktail first, the bar is ideal for enjoying lighter dishes accompanied by a signature cocktail or three.
Enjoy
The roof terrace is an impressive surprise and has views of one of Spain’s most famous landmarks: La Sagrada Familia, the chimneys of La Pedrera (another Gaudi masterpiece), Jean Nouvel’s Torre Glòries and the natural masterpiece, the Mediterranean Sea. The small pool deck is a gem that can only be used by the hotel’s guests. The Mood Rooftop Bar, however, is open to guests outside the hotel which adds a welcome buzz.
