The Party Line: Spicy Lil Tofu, Longines, Guiltless, Zanotti and more

Going over last week’s A to Z of events – from Ana R to Zanotti – let’s start with Monday, when, with great pleasure, we Uber’d all the way to Wong Chuk Hang, where our city’s resident super models Lisa S and the aforementioned Ms R unveiled their trendy line of kids’-wear, Spicy Lil Tofu. These mannequins-turned-mums have lent their tall and lithesome presences to so many Prestige photoshoots and society pages over the years that we thought it only right and proper to head over to the boondocks and support them too.

On Tuesday, we popped over to the dark side – that’s Tsim Tsa Tsui to you – for Longines’ 185th-anniversary exhibition at iSquare., The exhibit displays a stunning collection of classic timepieces made by the watchmaker, which has been based in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, since 1832. In all honesty, we went there with a colleague who’s a huge fan of the brand’s ambassador, the ageless – should I say timeless? – wonder that’s Aaron Kwok. Looking slick and elegant, as usual, the media-savvy pop icon fielded the prying Qs from tabloids with an easy smile – and was then surprised to be presented with a pair of engraved Longines Master Collection watches. Kwok posed and preened for the cameras, gave the perfunctory sound-bytes – and left.

We then sailed back across the harbour to the Guiltless pop-up at 67 Queens Road. We’ve – well, I’ve – got a particular affinity to Yen Kuok, who was the first person I interviewed for this magazine and is also the first person I look for at an event – so we can have a goss. The turnout was pretty awesome – and a barometer of this young and enterprising lady’s popularity. The pop-up is gorgeous – incredible brands at affordable prices – as are the preloved goodies, so check ’em out ASAP (the pop-up ends on Nov 20).

Giuseppe Zanotti was in town last week to showcase his latest collection of glamorous shoes, so we joined the strutting ladies – including Helen Ma and Deborah Hung – at the event in ifc. At the same time, Michael Kors was hosting an event at Elements mall – fortunately my colleague Jeremy Wong attended, where he caught superstars Sammi Cheng and Louis Koo arriving in style.

The week ended with a party at the ifc atrium, where Valentino hosted the VLTN Pop Up featuring Korean pop star Oh Se-hun of EXO – and predictably the fan collective was out in full-volume force (the crowd started building at 4pm, hours before the shindig). Francis Cheng (if you don’t know him you must be seriously new in town) was posting Instastories about the feverish crescendo released when Oh strolled up the escalator, flanked by nine bodyguards. Naturally we couldn’t get with 30 metres of the K-popster, so looked down on the spectacle from the mezzanine floor.

What lies ahead: most excited about Christian Louboutin’s party with and Indian couturier Sabyasachi Mukherjee (we highly encourage you to check out the latter’s Instagram). There’s also a party with Intimissimi later in the week that promises the usual parade of models strutting around in lingerie and heels in the Causeway Bay store. Wonder who’ll be turning out to that – wink wink, nudge, nudge …
