Travelers seek out authentic and unique experiences wherever they go and hotels are listening. The Peninsula Hotels recently launched its immersive traveling art experience, called Art in Resonance, that engages all five senses. The traveling art program will circle the world. The first stop? Hong Kong.
These experiential art installations seen within the program were curated by Isolde Brielmaier and Bettina Pentice, both acclaimed art curators. The collection features international artists in all mediums who use physical experiences to unite its viewers with the piece. Both guests of The Peninsula Hotels as well as the public will have access to the show.
Highlights include Janet Echelman’s colorful sculpture that floats above the front of The Peninsula Hong Kong; The Wonder Room (a modern take on a Chinese teahouse) with woodworking techniques by MINAX Architects founder, Zhi-gang Lu; and Timothy Paul Myers’ installation featuring furniture wrapped in red felt.
This fall, the exhibition will move to The Peninsula Paris and include a select few of the above pieces, as well as newly commissioned installations from artists in Paris. Eventually, the installation will visit 10 cities. The program is also being designed to launch in London, Istanbul and Yangon and marks the continued support of The Peninsula Hotels investment in emerging and established artists.
