On my way to Thailand I swore that I will only do the minimum shopping required, and that’s only a few souvenirs to bring back home with me. But as they say sometimes destiny has other plans. During my trip to Thailand I have made new friends, one of them being Ms Thai, our lovely guide who showed us around her city which you can read all about in my previous post here. As we were sitting in the car driving back from our tour, Ms Thai asked Tiffany and I what our plans were for the following day. As we hadn’t signed up for any other tour on that day, Ms Thai had a brilliant idea. She said let me make a call to my boss and have you two come shopping with me. That was it she made it happen, so fast forward to the following morning we arrived at the Platinum Fashion Mall, Thailand’s largest Wholesale and Retail shopping destination. What we didn’t know was the surprise that was in store for us.
As we got out of the car we were greeted by a whole Marketing team of the Platinum Fashion Mall and a designated photographer who captured our whole shopping experience. We got a celebrity treatment all the way. The first stop was at the Novotel Bangkok Platinum Pratunam hotel which is ideally located on top of the Platinum Mall. Our experience started off with a presentation about the Platinum Mall, which took place in one of the meeting rooms of the Novotel Bangkok Platinum hotel, followed by a presentation about the hotel and last but not least each one of us was presented with a 3,000 Baht gift certificate which we could use at the mall.
Sharon Kaserer, the Marketing Manager of Novotel Bangkok Platinum hotel then took us on a tour of the hotel showing us their facilities and services before we headed for our shopping time at the Platinum Fashion Mall. I was a guest at the Novotel Bangkok Platinum hotel at the end of my trip and will be sharing my experience about it very soon with more photos and descriptions.
Here we are myself, Tiffany of Wanderblush and the lovely Gloria of The Blog Abroad ready to commence our shopping spree with out personal shopping assistants.
Here at the Platinum Fashion Mall you can find almost anything from clothes, accessories, souvenirs, shoes, you name it. There are 2, 138 stores inside the mall. J and Dear who joined me on my shopping spree wanted me to buy everything lol. They were so helpful and friendly that as you can imagine with no intentions of shopping I ended up leaving the mall with bags of new purchases.
After our intensive shopping spree we joined Sharon for a delicious buffet lunch at the Square Restaurant at the Novotel Bangkok Platinum Pratunam hotel. The restaurant serves a selection of International, Asian and Thai cuisine. They had the most amazing sushi corner which I couldn’t resist.
During my time in Bangkok the Vegetarian Festival was taking place from the 12-20 October therefore guests could also find a separate vegetarian corner served at the Square Restaurant.
The dessert section was another heaven for those with a sweet tooth!
After lunch we were all amused with trying out the new selfie machine that can be found in the lobby of the hotel.
A farewell photo with our newly made friends at the Platinum Fashion Mall. Thank you all for your warm welcome and hospitality.
